If you are trying to make money from blogging or some other online venture there are certain things you must do if you are not to fail: you must get visitors and you must rank in the search engines. You can achieve both of these goals by paying for visitors at the search engines via pay per click or you can get visitors for free using article marketing.
The first thing to do is research your article marketing subject. There are several good keyword tools on the market to help you decide which keywords will bring you visitors but also you need to make sure there is little competition as well or you won’t get good rankings at the search engines. Your keyword phrases need to be relevant to your site and be getting plenty of search queries but not too many results. You can read a more detailed post about keyword tools for a better explanation.
Once you have picked out your keywords you will need to use them in your articles title, a couple of times in the first paragraph, once or twice in the body and once again within the closing sentence for optimum results.
Keep your article marketing real. In other words write it for people, not Google. We can help our articles climb the search engine rankings but they won’t do us any good if people read the first sentence, decide it’s rubbish and hit the back button. Keep your articles simple and to the point. Use bullets as they will get your major arguments over quicker.
Once finished, read it several times and make sure it is written correctly and that you have your targeted phrases in the right places. Once you have checked it, read it again, a few times. If something doesn’t quite read correctly, write it again and don’t forget, while you may be an expert on the subject, your reader is not.
Summing up your article is the most important {part-section} but most who do article marketing miss the important point all together. Your article gives the reader information that they have searched for but now you want them to get yet more information by going to your blog. Point out the benefits of clicking your link and visiting your website. “Click here for more info” won’t cut it any more. Tell them exactly why they should and what they can expect to find: a a more detailed article, important list of links they will find useful etc.
Finally be particular where you send your articles and slightly rewrite it each time you submit it to a directory or blog feeder. I would give the original version to ezinearticles.com and hang fire until they accept it before submitting it to similar article directories. This is because they are the busiest article directory so get you most visitors but they won’t articles that have already been submitted elsewhere.
Article marketing is still the easiest method of promoting a website without spending big bucks on Pay Per Click. Just one article each day means around 100 articles on perhaps 1000′s of sites in just 3 months time all with links aimed at your blog.
When you see the great results and want to go to another level with your article marketing take a look at submitting your articles to Article Marketing Automation. The articles take longer to write but the benefits are ten times better than normal article marketing.
