Blogging in Action is the package that gets us the most excited. This is a great ebook, and ebook might just be the wrong word to describe it.’ The author, Shaun Taylor, has certainly outdone himself — but what you really care about is how the book and resource can help you, so let’s get to it!

When you open the ebook for the first time you notice that it is very large with 258 pages of content! This is a huge accomplishment in the world of ebook publishing. Some might express concent that it will be too much information in too compact a space, but the organization of the content makes it a non-issue.

Shaun starts out by outlining his goals for the book. He wants it to be current and up to date, cover many different topics, appeal to different experience levels, distill theory and concepts into action steps, and create a clear path for anyone who wants to make their mark as a blogger. Anyone can grasp the concepts presented in this ebook, as everything is covered from A to Z. The different sections in Blogging in Action generally start out with an overview of that particular section, but then they quickly move into action steps. This is fantastic, because you can’t become a successful blogger just by reading, you need to actually do something with the material. You will see a lot of options, don’t let that worry you, Wordpress with be under ‘blogs’ usually under the second header.Very simply, click Wordpress and ‘New Installation’.Take note of the admin name and passowrd, these will be needed to be able to post to your blog through the wordpress admin section.

Your blog is now up and running!The following should be done straight away.

Log into the admin area and delete the “Hello World” post and any other posts/ comments wordpress installs. Simply go to ‘manage’ then posts and delete.

Go to Manage’ and then ‘Pages’ and click on ‘About’. Change the about information to your own.

Head over to wordpress.org.org and click on the menu item ‘extend’ and then ‘themes’.Select on of the free themes that you would like, download it and extract to a local file.

Open your FTO program of choice and place in your relevant FTP details. Find your theme that you downloaded and extracted and upload to wordpress. Note that the file path is. Public_html ->wp-content -> themes.

There, you are now complete and ready to start blogging and generate traffic. There is a lot more to using wordpress then simply posting. There are a lot of plug-ins that really enhance your site and can add a lot to user experience, everything from social bookmarking tools, automatically insert adsense to postings and many more.
